Insurance Information

Patients with EyeMed: Due to the fact that EyeMed has refused to increase my exam reimbursement since I graduated in 1996 (26 years with no increase), I have decided that I will no longer accept it for the exams. You will pay our self-pay 50% off pricing of $60 for your exam and we will then help you get a direct check from EyeMed if your plan allows. At this time, we are still willing and able to bill your materials through EyeMed but will also compare your plan to our self-pay pricing and get you the best possible deal.

Patients with VSP: As with EyeMed, VSP will not increase exam reimbursement dating back decades. In addition, once your authorization is pulled VSP tries to convince you via email to ditch your eye doctor and use them directly for materials. I think this is underhanded and wrong. As of January 23, 2023, we will no longer have anything to do with VSP – neither exams or materials. We will however, do our best to beat their pricing with our self-pay options and help with submission of a direct payment to you, if your plan allows. With the in-office discounts and direct reimbursement you will come out ahead.

Patients with Medicare: We are also not going to be a Medicare provider effective immediately. Medicare typically covers one exam per year with a medical diagnosis only (not just because you need a new prescription). As a Medicare patient you will get your exam at 50% off ($60) and we will then apply that $60 towards your glasses purchase. Hence, you will essentially have a free exam.

Patients with Medicaid: We discontinued Medicaid in March of 2022 with COVID as the catalyst. You may benefit from our lowest priced package which includes an examination, our retinal wellness scan, a frame valued at $129.99 and plastic lenses for the low price of just $149. If you have a current prescription, you can look at our selection of budget frames. Including single vision lenses, they would be only $99.99 complete.
